Around the country and the world today, people commemorated the 6th anniversay of 9/11. Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani, who is running “on his 9/11 performance” took some time out spend part of the day “with a high-profile pundit who’s repeatedly bashed the 9/11 widows, calling them “self-obsessed” and accusing them of “enjoying their husband’s deaths.”” Rudy was also seen chumming with “Bernard Kerik, who was the police commissioner of New York when the Twin Towers collapsed,” at a “somber memorial near Ground Zero.”
Senator John Kerry issued the following statement to mark Patriot Day, the day when the nation commemorates the losses of Sept. 11, 2001:
“As we pause today to remember the loss of nearly 3,000 American lives six years ago, we honor everyone we lost to the worst terrorist attack ever on American soil,” Kerry said. “It’s deeply frustrating that even on this day we are reminded that the murderer behind those attacks, Osama bin Laden, is still free to spread propaganda while al Qaeda continues to plot, plan, and proselytize. This should be a reminder that while it is right to remember those we loved and lost on 9/11, it is also past time for the government to recommit itself to bringing their killers to justice.”
