Kerry, Clinton & Boxer to Introduce Legislation Requiring Pentagon to Prepare for Iraq Redeployment
by Pamela LeaveyAP reports today that “A suicide car bomber slammed into an Iraqi police station northeast of Baghdad on Thursday, killing at least 13 people.”
The U.S. military announced three more soldier deaths: two killed in a mortar or rocket attack Tuesday, and another killed by a roadside bomb Wednesday.
At least 3,659 U.S. military personnel have died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count. The figure includes seven military civilians.
We need an exit plan… Kerry, Clinton and Boxer step up to the plate:
This afternoon (2:30 est) in a press conference, Senator John Kerry (D-MA) will join Senators Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) and Barbara Boxer (D-CA) to introduce legislation that would force the Pentagon to prepare a report and briefing for Congress on contingency planning for redeploying troops from Iraq.

It seems most probable that the reason why there’s no exit plan is because there’s no exit planned.
(Actually, the military plans pretty much for every eventuality, so one wonders at the fcat that the top brass no longer feels the same obligation to communicate with Congress. Is there no part of our government that has escaped the Bush pollution/dilution?
