Gay Flamingos Pick Up Chick
by Pamela LeaveyWho says that gay parenting is un-natural? Apparently there’s nothing un-natural about gay flamingos parenting:
A pair of gay flamingos have adopted an abandoned chick, becoming parents after being together for six years, a British conservation organisation said Monday.
Carlos and Fernando had been desperate to start a family, even chasing other flamingos from their nests to take over their eggs at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT) in Slimbridge near Bristol.
But their egg-sitting prowess made them the top choice for taking an unhatched egg under their wings when one of the Greater Flamingo nests was abandoned.
The couple, together for six years, can feed chicks by producing milk in their throats.
It seems that “gay flamingos are not uncommon,” and if “there aren’t enough females or they don’t hit it off with them, they will pair off with other males.” And parently some gay flamingos really feel the nesting instinct rather strongly…
Fernando and Carlos are a same sex couple who have been known to steal other flamingos’ eggs by chasing them off their nest because they wanted to rear them themselves,” said WWT spokeswoman Jane Waghorn.
“They were rather good at sitting on eggs and hatching them so last week, when a nest was abandoned, it seemed like a good idea to make them surrogate parents.”
I couldn’t help but laugh reading this story, I used to have a gay neighbor named Carlos years ago who was incredibly flamboyant and a lot of fun. Hat’s off to Carlos and Fernando for starting their own little family!
Andrew Sullivan asks, is it “Time to excommunicate Planet Earth?” And on The Reaction, Michael J.W. Stickings notes, “good for them, I say.” Melissa adds on Shakesville, “Yet another inconvenient truth for the “gay parenting is unnatural” crowd.”

{{{Teresa}}} OMG, must control whoremones!!!
I can’t wait to see what my big gay sister has to say about this! I think her and the little lady will like this one. Since they are raising a kid together, and he is the cutest and happiest baby you will ever know, I just know they will like this. Damn, now I miss Tucker, my nephew.

Where have you been????
Hey you guys!!
I’ve been trying to stay out of trouble at home. Staying undercover. People are crazy these days. Shell shocked. Not that they aren’t usually.:o
The articles here have been great.
I’m not following Bush anymore. He’s as good as gone. And all the negativity is not appetizing to me. The cheap sideshow is beyond my budget. So I’m waiting for some folks with a teeny tiny infinitesimal fraction of inspiration in them. Will I see it in my lifetime? We ARE living forever these days!

LOL! You stay out of trouble.
The negativity is not appetizing for anyone is it? JK still provides the best inspiration in my book. The rest are imitations.
JK is up to something. He’s doing well. and I wonder what’s behind the think tank.
Negativity is exciting for most so it will continue ad nauseum, but I’m more interested in what’s really going on. The main stage simply bores me.
