Iglesias Reveals He Filed Complaint Against Rove and More Impeachment Talk
by Pamela LeaveyThinkProgress reports that “tonight on MSNBC, fired U.S. Attorney David Iglesias revealed key new details about the Office of Special Counsel’s (OSC) probe into Karl Rove and other White House officials reported today by the Los Angeles Times.”
Iglesias said that on April 3, he filed a Hatch Act complaint with the OSC, charging that Karl Rove and others may have violated the law by firing him over his failure to initiate partisan-motivated prosecutions. Iglesias said he subsequently spoke with OSC chief Scott Bloch, who made clear that he was planning to launch an investigation. Despite suggestions that the White House may have initiated the OSC investigation to obstruct parallel congressional probes, Iglesias expressed confidence in Bloch.
Iglesias also said that while evidence of Rove’s potential illegal actions is currently only circumstantial, “I believe if OSC digs in, they can get direct evidence.”
On the WaPo Dan Froomkin asks about the Gonzales scandal, “does the White House really think this scandal will pass?”
Jim Rutenberg and Neil A. Lewis write in the New York Times: “One senior Republican Congressional aide at work in Washington on Monday, who requested anonymity to speak candidly, called Mr. Bush’s statement that his confidence in Mr. Gonzales had grown after his testimony ‘curious’; another senior Republican aide asked, ‘Was he watching the same hearing as everyone else?’”
Here on The Dem Daily, Robert Freedland asked, “Is it Time to Impeach the President?” Word is that Democratic leaders are stepping lightly around Dennis Kucinich’s introduction today, of “articles of impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney.” Just what is Kucinich’s motive with going after Cheney?
Kucinich said he was starting to try to impeach Cheney rather than President Bush, because if he succeeded in removing Bush, Cheney would then become president.
“You would have to go through the constitutional agony of impeaching two presidents consecutively,” he explained.
I know it’s not probably not at all feasible but the concept works for me. We’ve all had it up to the rooftops with the lies and manipulations. There’s part of me that would simply love to see the whole damn BushCo crew impeached!

I know I will be taking part of A28 come Saturday. I have the Impeach signs made up and ready to go! WooHoo!
Donnie
We saw some Impeach Bush signs on the 101 freeway in the Santa Cruz area over the weekend. Too many cars on the road to get pictures though.
I believe that would be The Freeway Blogger. He was in that area this weekend. He hit Santa Cruz and Berkley among other areas.
