FEMA Leaders Lack Disaster Experience
by RonChusidThe Washington Post reports on how FEMA leaders were lacking diaster experience, but had plenty of political ties:
Five of eight top Federal Emergency Management Agency officials came to their posts with virtually no experience in handling disasters and now lead an agency whose ranks of seasoned crisis managers have thinned dramatically since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
FEMA’s top three leaders — Director Michael D. Brown, Chief of Staff Patrick J. Rhode and Deputy Chief of Staff Brooks D. Altshuler — arrived with ties to President Bush’s 2000 campaign or to the White House advance operation, according to the agency. Two other senior operational jobs are filled by a former Republican lieutenant governor of Nebraska anda U.S. Chamber of Commerce official who was once a political operative.

Of course, it doesn’t help when FEMA hired folks based on faked resumes.
Keep up the good work!

LOL! No kidding huh! Thanks for the link. And the acknowledgement.
Why would you want to place knowledgeable people in an agency you are scrapping. Bush Inc. has a goal of dismantling all those things in our government that works. The Department of Homeland Security was not needed, what was needed was a president that would listen to experts in the F.B.I. or the C.I.A. Maybe 9-11 could have been avoided if we elected politicians instead of fortunate sons. This one was picked by the elitist because of his arrogant ignorance. This same crew could not get Ronnie Reagan to do or say everything this one does because being a has-been movie star he still had an image to protect.
