NBC is projecting that the Democratic Party will take control of the House!!! Way to go Democrats! Keep the good news coming…“Projections by The Associated Press at 11 p.m. ET showed the Democrats’ picking up 19 seats in the House, more than the 15 they needed to regain control and install Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California as the nation’s first female speaker.”
Democrats regained control of the House of Representatives for the first time in 12 years Tuesday night and made strong gains in the Senate, according to NBC News projections. Democrats cast the results as a sharp rebuke to President Bush and promised big changes in Washington.
Here’s some of the key races Democrats have won:
Democrat Joe Sestak defeated Republican Rep. Curt Weldon in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, picking up an important seat for Democrats in their bid to take control of the House of Representatives.
Democrat Zack Space won election in Ohio on Tuesday to the House of Representatives seat being vacated by disgraced Republican Rep. Bob Ney, giving Democrats a victory in their bid to take control of Congress.
Former Democratic Rep. Baron Hill of Indiana defeated current Republican Rep. Mike Sodrel on Tuesday for his seat in the House of Representatives, lifting Democratic hopes for taking control of Congress.
Democrats ousted Reps. John Hostettler, Chris Chocola and Mike Sodrel in Indiana, as well as Anne Northup in Kentucky, while GOP Rep. Ron Lewis in Kentucky also fought to hold on to his seat.
Democratic businessman Joe Donnelly ousted two-term Republican Rep. Chris Chocola on Tuesday from his northern Indiana seat in the House of Representatives, aiding Democrats’ efforts to take control of Congress.

OH do I wish I could see the face of the ultra neocon from the night shift I used to work with. I kept ragging him last year – long before the idea of a Dem win in the house was the least bit possible – just because he would take it so determinedly as ludicrous.
Speaker Pelosi, I hope it is upheld in the vote. Partly because of how much the GOPers warned people about her.
