Rummy Inspired By God?
by Pamela Leavey October 20th, 2006 @ 3:53 pm
Does the “Good Lord” inspire Rummy actions when it comes to war? Apparently one general thinks that’s the case:
“He leads in a way that the good Lord tells him is best for our country,” said Marine General Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Maybe it’s just a case of follow the leader…

The only way that Rumskull could lead in a way that’s best for the country is to resign…..but I don’t even know if the Lord himself could convince him (or the administration) to do it.
I think that GOD would be much more able to run a war than what we see from Rummy. The obvious is right before everyones eyes.
Off topic, but you guys must hear Karl Rove live on C-SPAN. Sounds & looks awful. Trying to be smug but it just isn’t working this time. I can tell the strategy is to say “They (Dems) won’t protect you in this global war for our civilization, but we will”. He is using all the same tired lines … they voted no on the Patriot Act, blah blah blah. He is trying to discredit Nancy P, John K, et al.
They are so outdated, divisive and desperate. It truly shows in his speech. They are trying so hard to scare us all…just in time for Halloween! America, please don’t be afraid.
It is truly a sacriledge for both President Bush and Secretary Rumsfeld to consitently imply that they have a direct hot line to God. “The good Lord tells him what is good for this country” is just an unbeliveable statement coming from a General. Are we too fighting a holy war? Is’nt this the same “logic” the terrorists are using to kill Americans? Although an infamous “liberal”, I am a person of faith. I don’t think a U.S. politician should be using the Almighty as a justification for pursusing an increaseingly unpopular war.
This administration with their base of “born again” Christians, seems totally unable or unwilling to honor the long established, and Consitutionally supported, tradition of the seperation of church and state. Elected officials are sworn in to “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, not the King James version of the Bible. President Bush is so dillusional that he actually has gone on record as stating that it was God’s will that he become president.” Gosh, I guess I was mistaken. I thought it was Florida’s Katherine Harris’s will that made him president. He has also stated that rather than confering with his father, Bush Sr. before pre-emptively invading Iraq he, “consulted with a higher Father.” Then far be it from us, mere mortals, to offer our “treasonist” objections. I had been under the impression that the policy of the “devine right of Kings” ended when we overthru the first King George at the conclusion of the Revolutionary War.”
To W and to Rummy, to Osama, too, and to anyone who believes God talks to them, I offer this quote from Sam Harris, author of THE END OF FAITH:
“The President of the United States has claimed, on more than one occasion, to be in dialogue with God. Now, if he said that he was talking to God through his hairdryer, this would precipitate a national emergency. I fail to see how the addition of a hairdryer makes the claim more ludicrous or more offensive.”
