John Kerry On Real Time with Bill Maher

by Pamela Leavey

John Kerry was on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher on Friday night. It was a great interview — No, not great an absolutely excellent interview… It’s must see TV!

Incase you missed it, you can Watch it Here:

How can these guys possibly protect the United States of America from terrorists when they can’t even protect us from Congressman Mark Foley?” – John Kerry

  1. Pamela,

Thanks so much for posting this video. You were right on, it is par excellence! I was amazed at how well he and Maher hit it off with their comedic bantering back and forth. After watching four times, it’s off to slumberland JK refreshed and revitalized.

  2. Pamela, great catch. A buddy of mine called Friday night to tell me Kerry was on, but unfortunately I don’t have HBO. Thanks again.

  3. Kerry’s Barnstorming Sparks Talk of a Run

John Kerry is on the road barnstorming for candidates across the country int he critical mid-term elections. As election day rapidly approaches, so too is the speculation for another Kerry run for the White House. Fact is John Kerry has never stopped …

  4. OMG, that was classic where he said if he wanted to kill two birds with one stone he would have vacationed at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue…….I haven’t laughed so hard since “I am a hunter, but I have never hunted with an AK-47”.

  5. You know, the more time I see JK interviewed the more I wonder to myself how in the Hell did he not get elected president?! Why didn’t the voting public want someone with brains?

Now here we are stuck with a guy who regularly SITS on his brains for another 2+ years.

  6. JK looked great – energy and determination, on top of the game. The line I loved was “Stand still and lose” another form of ‘Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory’.

  8. I have a friend who belongs to the Democratic Party and she did’nt believe me about the comment John Kerry made about President Bush.
Mr Maher asked about Mrs Kerry’s birthday about killing two birds with one stone. Kerry responds with “and(killing) one stone at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Instead you post a quote from Javelin saying “if he wanted to kill two birds with one stone he would have vacationed at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.”
One very big problem we have in this country is the lies and telling of only one side of the story in which you did with John Kerry’s remarks. Would you rather lie for corrupted politicians or tell the truth to us American people?

IF you watch the interview, I mean actually watch it and not read wingnut blog posts about it, you will get that Maher and Kerry were talking about the fact that Kerry took his wife to VT for a getaway for her birthday.

Maher said you should have gone to NH, in so many words and “killed two birds with one stone” meaning campaigning there. Kerry responded he could have just gone directly to 1600 Penn Ave using the same metaphor Maher used, with different wording (one bird, one stone) it would have been faster. He meant he rather go directly to the White House, it’s quicker than campaigning.

That’s the translation for wingnuts who didn’t GET the humor. There was nothing sinister about what he said. 🙄

  10. 🙄 🙄 🙄

We note again that people who think and conspire about cruel, illegal and immoral behavior, are the first to accuse someone else of doing it too.

Someday the wingnuts will figure out that we get their agenda and we don’t have one cuz we can’t agree on it 😆
