GOP Pulls the Elitist Meme on Harold Ford, Jr.

by Pamela Leavey

The GOP, those pinacles of the elitist class are at it again… this time they are using their doublespeak trying to paint Rep. Harold Ford, Jr. as an elitist. Newsweek reports:

It may seem like an odd complaint coming from Republicans, who know a thing or two about posh pads and parties themselves. But RSCC spokesman Dan Ronayne says the site reveals Ford as an out-of-touch elitist, “more D.C. than Tennessee.” The very existence of the site also reveals something about the Republicans: they are so worried about Ford’s candidacy they’re going negative five months before the primary.

The Rovian’s pulled this “out-of-touch elitist” B.S. on John Kerry during the ‘04 election. It’s time to put an end to their lies. The elitist party is the GOP and they are the ones out of touch with mainstream America. Meanwhile, the WaPo reports that the GOP is struggling to “define its message for the 2006 elections.” This report from Newsweek, shows that in lieu of a message, the GOP resorts to their usual smear tactics.

  1. The GOP is now the party having trouble defining their message?

They should do an “outside the beltway” approach. They’re so far out of reality, they are in their own delusional holographic reality. They immagine and believe it’s the truth.

I’m sure the Dems will get more of the no plan, no clear message BS. At least the GOP has no message to offer, unless they boot the neocons and swear on the Bible to
    practice what they preach.

  2. For a pol, Harold Ford is well liked by the media, in-state and nationally. Hell, this article seemed pretty positive in spite of everything. Plus, Ford’s family has a long history in the state, complete with a kooky, gun totin’ country uncle (Doesn’t everyone in the South have one of them?). I’m not so sure they can paint him as out-of-touch and different. We’ll see….

  3. Florida Dem

It was pretty positive. I got the impression that Newsweek was exposing what the GOP was doing.
