Dubai Company has More Ties to Bush Administration
by Pamela LeaveyAs I reported here a few days ago regarding the deal that sets up a Dubai company to take over control of 6 U.S. ports, an executive for Dubai Port World has been tapped for a cushy federal government appointment by the Bush administration. David Sanborn, who runs Dubai Port World’s European and Latin American operations was nominated by Bush last month to head the U.S. Maritime Administration.
Mercury News reports that Treasury Secretary John Snow, whose department heads the federal panel, CFIUS, that signed off on the $6.8 billion Ports Deal, was the chairman of the CSX rail firm that sold its “international port operations to DP World for $1.15 billion in 2004, the year after Snow left for President Bush’s cabinet.”

Im glad to see that there are some Republicans showing they have at least half a brain.
We should be very wary of a president who does not even want to listen to his people. Americans have a right to feel insecure when we leave our borders open and ill equipt to handle terrorists coming into this country; now we are supposed to feel secure about our ports being controlled by an Arab country who has sheltered known terrorists.
In my opinion, I don’t believe we should allow ANY other country to control or watch our borders or ports. I am sure americans could easily fill these positions and gladly help secure our country.
We NEED to take a stand; we deserve to feel secure for our families and future generations.
