The Culture of Corruption – Republican Style

by Pamela Leavey

With the fresh guilty plea from Duke Cunningham today, the WaPo is reporting how “corporations and other wealthy interests have made ever-larger campaign contributions, gifts and sponsored trips part of the culture of Capitol Hill.” Please… Let’s call it what it is, the Culture of Corruption – Republican Style.

…the commingling of money and politics has gone too far.

After years in which big-dollar dealings have come to dominate the interaction between lobbyists and lawmakers, both sides are now facing what could be a wave of prosecutions in the courts and an uprising at the ballot box. Extreme examples of the new business-as-usual are no longer tolerated.

American’s are tired of the corruption, the scandals and the cronyism that have been rife in this administration and the Republicans currently controlling the House and the Senate. Today’s guilty plea from Duke Cunningham should serve as a wake-up call to American’s that enough is enough. The Culture is Corruption is fueled by the Culture of Greed. The rich get richer while the poor get poorer.

Who will call for an end to the war profiteering that has become commonplace in this administration. Who will stand and say enough is enough – it’s time for clean money elections.
